#FashionFeelsFabulous Challenge

Welcome to the blog all about the #fashionfeelsfabulous challenge! A new challenge for July run by myself, Alice-May @thestitchedit and Brittani @untitledthoughts

We are challenging you to show us how your clothing makes you feel in a photo. It’s designed to take advantage of something a lot of us already do, take photos for Instagram, and step up our creativity! You may all get as wild and crazy as you want with this challenge! GO AHEAD and GO FOR IT!

So what do we mean by showing how a garment makes you feel?

The best way to explain this challenge is to use an example. This photo below makes me feel as though I have stepped onto the set of an old movie! I get major Disney princess vibes in the form of Belle as I pick up my book and read on my picnic blanket. The dress made me feel like I was in a classic movie of some sort. Add a blanket, a scarf, cute accessories and fun skirt placement and you can see how the outfit makes me feel. Do I look exactly like Belle or Audrey Hepburn in this picture, um no! I WISH! The object is not to completely imitate something, but use these characters or moods to inspire you to come up with something that shares what you feel with us! Some outfits make you feel like you need to take a nap.  So take a pic of yourself sitting on your favorite resting spot! The object, for once, is not to show us all the details of what you made, or the full outfit, but to create a unique picture that is YOU! We want to see YOU and what the outfit makes you do!

It’s Alice-May talking now! I finished these trousers at the weekend and did the thing where you put them on and are like… well what on earth am I going to put with this…After some wardrobe rummaging I found this red crop top that I’d refashioned from a tunic a while ago. This was giving me the start of a 60s vibe so I decided to roll with it and accessorised with my headband, pearls and a statement red lip. I felt pretty chic and elegant in these, and incredibly smug that they comfy are secret pyjamas. So here is me, after a long day in a stuffy office having braved the hellfire that is the central line in summer and still feeling (and hopefully looking) pretty.

Brittani here! I was so thrilled to make this swim set. It was one of those projects that literally had me shaking as I sewed each stitch. You know how that goes, when you just KNOW you are going to love your finished project? Well, as soon as I slipped my finished swimming set on,I felt like literal fire. I was just sauntering all around my house feeling bold and vivacious! It had me longing for a cocktail by the ocean. Instead, I swiped on some red lips and pulled my little tropical tree into my favorite room, bringing my beach fantasies to life! Now if only I had gotten that cocktail…..
